Springfield, IL… State Representative David Leitch (R-Peoria) today secured key committee assignments for the 96th General Assembly. Leitch was appointed to six committees including his long-held positions on the Human Services-Appropriations Committee and Minority Spokesperson of the Disability Services Committee. He will also be serving on the Financial Institutions, Health and Healthcare Disparities, Insurance and Labor Committees.

Leitch stated that he is proud to be able to, “continue my role on the Human Services-Appropriations Committee and the Disability Services Committee as those committees have been crucial to our work in the Peoria area with the mentally ill, developmentally disabled, and physically disabled.”

He also hopes to be able to assist the state through the Financial Institutions Committee and to use his experience as a former bank executive to help navigate the troubling waters ahead.

“Health and Healthcare Disparities and Insurance Committee positions are also crucial to the Peoria area. Having served on the board of the Illinois Comprehensive Health Insurance Program (ICHIP) helps to give me insight into these issues and how they relate within healthcare delivery in Illinois,” said Leitch on Tuesday from Springfield.
